🎶 ’tis the season to…. ditch the calorie counter. It’s the time of year to indulge in all the Christmas goodies! 🐖🎄 What are your family’s top ten Christmas foods? Here are our family’s favs for the holidays.
1. Ham – The Star of the Show. Move over, Hollywood. The real star of Christmas dinner is a hunk of delicious ham. It’s so good; Santa might consider swapping his cookies for it.
2. Dressing (with giblet gravy!) – Carb Wonderland. It’s not just dressing; it’s the carby cuddle your soul craves during the winter. Dive into it like you’re jumping into a pile of leaves, but it’s much tastier. 🛑 And no, we don’t call it stuffing down here in Louisiana. 🛑
3. Cranberry Sauce – the Saucy Siren. Cranberry sauce is like the Beyoncé of condiments – a little sweet, a little tart, and it can make anything fabulous.
4. Potato Salad – Smooth – and lumpy. Delicious, and the reason elastic waistbands exist. We like ours mustardy (yeah, that’s a word – ha) and served warm, fresh off the stove.
5. Broccoli and Rice Casserole – oh, the cheesy goodness. Our family will wrestle you for that crunchy edge around the casserole dish. Yum.
6. Baked Beans – Yes. Baked beans. My little brother says it’s not Christmas without it. So good. It’s a crime to have Christmas without them. 🚨
7. Sweet Potato Casserole – Nutty Goodness. Topped with toasted pecans, this casserole acts like a dessert but is the cozy fireplace of casseroles – warm, comforting, and best enjoyed hugged by melted marshmallows.
8. Green Bean Casserole – the unsung hero of Christmas dinners. It’s like the cool cousin who steals the spotlight without even trying. Everybody’s talking about it with its fancy dried onions. There are no left-overs, here.
9. Deviled Eggs – 👀 It’s the thing that no one is looking for but are so delighted when they spot them on the dinner table. Deviled eggs are a hit for our family at every holiday meal.
10. Buttery Garlic Ground Beef Pistolettes – It is just expected that cheesy ground beef and Broccoli stuffed Pistolettes smothered and toasted in garlic butter will be on our family’s dinner table. I have to answer for it every time, if I leave them off the menu. 🤷🏼♀️
