Where are the ghost busters?! I have been seeing lots of people painting ghosts on old photos on social media.
This ghost painting trend looks like a fun Halloween project!
I have seen the ghosts painted on old paintings too. And I have this old painting that I bought at Goodwill a few months ago!
I also have Hobby Lobby frame in the garage. And it is perfect for project because the frame is black and distressed.
I am grabbing the scissors, white and black acrylic paint and a paint brush. Exciting!
I have been wanting to make a Halloween since last year. I want a Halloween wall hanging for our foyer.
I cut the painting down to a size that fit behind the distressed frame. I temporarily placed the painting behind the frame. Then, I marked the location where I will paint the ghost.
I removed the painting from the frame and outlined the ghost. Then, filled it in with white paint. I painted two black eyes.
After the first coat of white paint dried, I layered more paint on the ghost to look like folds in the white paint.
Once all the paint dries, I tacked the painting to the distressed frame.
Check out how the painting turned out.
Here is a close up of my ghost art. Don’t be scared. Haha.
I think he looks a little bit like a mummy. I am not the best painter. Haha!
It was a FUN project and looks good in the foyer. See the other Halloween ghost decor in the foyer here. And if you are having a Halloween get together, creep over here to see my Halloween ghost Peeps floral decoration centerpiece.
Let me know what you think. And let me know if you paint ghosts on old pictures.
